( with the help that both morrigan and neve had been providing to rook and this new adventure it had felt very fortunate for their paths to cross. morrigan had an artefact that she wanted to hunt down, neve was famed as the best detective known and the correspondence in getting her help had been simple. sadly, their destination was the frostbacks but with an eluvian that could take them anywhere it meant that the travel was simple.
perhaps the only simple part.
they'd spent the previous day following morrigan's single lead before finding somewhere to stay for the night. magic helped to keep the place much warmer than it would have been otherwise allowing the two to get some needed sleep for the continued search.
that was the plan but the frostbacks certainly had a different idea, given that the snow had fallen quickly and heavily overnight making the conditions dangerous to travel that day. even magic wouldn't save them from stupidity )
Perhaps it will only be our weather that is cold and not our trail when we pick it up again.
( hopefully. and since had been up before neve have some ready made tea to warm you )
[ This has moved past a "the cold never bothered me anyway," situation. Neve is officially cold. She is rarely cold like this, given her affinity to ice. But right now, she's got a blanket pulled around her, still in her pajamas to keep warm, a very fuzzy sock on her foot.
She looks relieved at the tea, as if Morrigan is truly a godsend (and in this moment she is), and she accepts it gladly while going to look if there's anything she can do to help keep the fire warm in the fireplace. ]
Terrible luck, isn't it? But I guess that's what we get for investigating in the Frostbacks.
If only this artefact had been left elsewhere, though these conditions make it likely that few others would have spent the effort in looking for it.
( she sits herself back down, pulling the fur of the blanket back around her, surprisingly still in fewer clothing despite the cold. though after spending much of her life living outdoors she's gotten used to cold, even if this is cold. and she is chilled, though too stubborn to do much more about it )
Hopefully, despite the age of those reports, they still hold true.

[ Neve pokes at the fire a bit and then turns back towards Morrigan. ]
It'll be worth it.
